The Czech Metrology Institute (CMI) is a contributory organization established by the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade in 1993. It serves as the national metrology institute in the fields of science, research, and applied metrology. CMI ensures the uniformity and accuracy of measuring instruments and measurements across scientific, technical, and economic sectors, particularly in metrology, medical devices, and electronic communications.

CMI Medical | Notified Body for Medical Device Certification
CMI Medical is a specialized division of CMI focused on conformity assessment of medical devices.
CMI was officially designated as a notified body under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR) in 2023. This designation authorizes CMI to perform:
- certification of medical devices under MDR
- post-certification surveillance activities in accordance with MDR requirements
